• Willing and able to work with wheat products (no wheat/gluten sensitivity).
• Willing and able to work in a team environment for the plant's success.

Responsibilities

• Review and manage the flow sheet of each mill and adjust to optimize yield and quality.
• Identify wheat varieties and produce to customer specifications during the shift.
• Manage the A/B and C/D Miller positions.
• Observe equipment operations to detect and correct malfunctions.
• Identify and assist with mill maintenance and equipment issues.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Clean work areas and equipment per sanitation schedules and work orders.
• Conduct laboratory analysis accurately and record results.
• Follow prescribed test procedures and sample handling protocols.
• Provide supervision to hourly mill personnel as needed; act as person in charge nights/weekends.

Salary Range: $26.74 To $32.76 Hourly

Summary:

The Lead Shift Miller is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the mills during their shift. They are to lead the review and inspection of the product, equipment and processing steps of raw ingredients through finished goods. They are to ensure that correct procedures are followed as prescribed by company policy and federal standards.

Primary Duties:

Milling

• Review and manage the flow sheet of each mill and know how to make adjustments to the mill to optimize yield and maintain consistent quality.
• Identify the different varieties of wheat and make all products to the customer’s specification during their shift.
• Manage the A/B and C/D Miller positions
• Observe equipment operations to ensure smooth operations and any malfunctions can be detected and corrected.
• Identify and assist with the resolution of problems in the mills as well as assist with maintenance on milling equipment.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
• Clean work areas and equipment, including the cleaning and lubricating of equipment as set by the master sanitation schedule and company work orders.

Lab & Other Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory analysis accurately, precisely, and punctually as described by approved methods, record results and verify accuracy.
• Comply with prescribed test procedures and sample handling protocols.
• May be responsible for providing supervision to hourly mill personnel, providing work direction and counseling as needed. Designated 'person in charge' on nights and weekends or whenever mill management team is absent.
• Perform other duties as requested
