Job summary

Granite State Manufacturing in New Hampshire seeks a Value Stream Leader to oversee the Mill and Lathe machining value stream, ensuring safe, efficient, on-time production of high-precision components.

Lead machinists and setup staff, drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, productivity, and cost, and coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, and Supply Chain in a high-mix environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of machining manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years in leadership, supervision, lead, or value stream management.
• Experience in high-mix, low-to-medium volume contract manufacturing.
• Experience with CNC milling and turning.
• Experience producing tight-tolerance components for demanding markets.
• U.S. person or authorized to access restricted information.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily leadership to Mill and Lathe production personnel.
• Foster safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct shift start-up meetings and communicate priorities.
• Train, coach, and develop employees on technical capability and engagement.
• Monitor attendance, performance, and policies compliance.
• Assist with performance reviews and workforce planning.
• Execute daily production plans to meet delivery commitments.
• Coordinate loading, labor allocation, and workflow across centers.
• Monitor schedule attainment, throughput, and utilization.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks and changes.
• Collaborate with Planning and Machining Manager to optimize resources.
• Ensure compliance with customer, quality, and process requirements.
• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Support first article inspections and setup verification.
• Lead safety, environmental, and compliance initiatives.
• Drive Kaizen and Lean improvements; reduce setup times.
• Support new product introduction and production transitions.
