Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester is seeking a Lead Laboratory Technologist for Microbiology on a part-time, weekend-evening schedule. You will oversee the Microbiology section, manage staff, and ensure accurate test results while coordinating QA/QC across the laboratory at the Bronxville campus.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Medical Technology or related science, NYS licensure, and 4+ years of technologist experience (or 2 years with a Master’s).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related science.
• New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a technologist, or 2 years of experience with a Master’s degree.
• Knowledge of laboratory policies and procedures.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Microbiology section of the laboratory.
• Perform QA/QC checks and address system maintenance issues.
• Ensure accuracy of test results and troubleshoot samples.
• Oversee staff in qualitative and quantitative testing; act as reference for technologists.
• Train and orient staff; serve as liaison to nursing units and physicians.
