Job summary

Sysco Foods is seeking an experienced MHE Technician III to oversee safe operation, daily monitoring, and maintenance of Material Handling Equipment and industrial batteries. Role includes supervisory duties when senior staff are unavailable and mentoring junior technicians.

Qualified candidates will have six years in MHE maintenance, a valid driver's license, Sysco certifications, and a strong focus on safety and reporting. Excellent benefits and a sign-on bonus are offered.

Qualifications

• Six years in an MHE maintenance position; or equivalent combination of education and related experience
• Must possess a valid state Driver's License and provide proof of liability coverage meeting Company standards
• Complete Sysco defensive driving program
• Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within 3 months
• MHE 8 hour maintenance tech certificate from MHE manufacturer
• Trade electrical I & II training (preferred)
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations

Responsibilities

• Performs the duties of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Technician III
• Performs moderate supervisory roles when Director Fleet and Facility Maintenance / Facility MHE Maintenance Supervisor are not accessible
• Demonstrates clear and concise decision-making skills related to MHE repair and availability of fleet for operations teams
• Provides clear communication and reporting to Director Fleet and Facility Maintenance / Facility MHE Maintenance Supervisor on a daily basis
• Maintains all tools and equipment in clean, safe, working order
• Adhere to safety requirements and wear PPE as required
• Assist the battery technicians; duties will include assisting in battery charger repairs and battery changes
