Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in a manufacturing or related field.
  • 2-3 years Maintenance Mechanic experience preferred.
  • Experience in a cGMP environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for troubleshooting advanced production and facilities equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and support engineering projects.
  • Uphold safety procedures to maintain a zero incident state.

Shift: 1st Shift

Compensation Range: $25.58 - $38.37/HR

Location/Division Specific Information:

Grand Island, NY-Biologicals and Chemicals Division (BCD). Manufacturing facility producing liquid and powder media and developing cell culture cell therapies.

How Will You Make an Impact?:

The candidate will be responsible for the production and facilities equipment at the Grand Island Facility. The Facility is a class 2 medical device manufacturer of liquids and dry powder media in clean room environments.

A Day in the Life:
  • The candidate will be responsible for the day to day troubleshooting of advanced production and facilities equipment as well as preventive maintenance and projects to support the Engineering Team.
  • The candidate will have a working knowledge of pneumatics, electromechanical technology, mechanical proficiency and knowledge of automation controls and basic PLC programming knowledge to log onto processors and to load processor and drive programs and parameters.
  • Uphold Safety procedures and drive the team to a zero incident state.
  • Purchasing of critical parts and providing purchase orders for emergency work and critical parts.
  • Driving the team daily and providing equipment support through troubleshooting assistance and priority of work orders and preventive maintenance.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
  • Required: Minimum of 4 years of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production or lab setting or related field
  • 2 -3 years Maintenance Mechanic experience in Automotive, Manufacturing, Warehouse, Commercial, or other related industry preferred.
  • Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Automation/Controls knowledge-Allen-Bradley is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to load PLC and Frequency Drives Programs and parameters.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Practical knowledge of GMPs and working in an SOP/Work Instruction environment.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • Ability to aseptically gown and work in a cleanroom environment.

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $25.58–$38.37.
