Job summary

GE Aerospace’s Military Materials Systems (MMS) is hiring a Lead Metallic Materials Application Engineer to define and support M&P for engine hardware throughout qualification and lifecycle. You will partner with design, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain to meet program requirements and ensure safety of hardware. Based in Evendale, OH, onsite is preferred with potential hybrid arrangements.

The base pay range is $112,000–$149,000 with eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. A U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy (or a high school diploma/GED and at least 7 years of engineering experience)
• Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance

Responsibilities

• Interpret design requirements that affect materials and processes and provide M&P guidance to design/manufacturing teams
• Define M&P for hardware; review/approve hardware drawings and design changes
• Set qualification requirements and disposition initial part qualifications and subsequent changes
• Dispositon manufacturing nonconformances and support supplier process reviews
• Lead root cause investigations and drive corrective actions/read across
• Identify M&P technology gaps and update strategies
• Apply lessons learned from field, manufacturing changes, and development programs
• Communicate hardware M&P status to team leads
• Author technical reports documenting key M&P decisions

Education

Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy

HS diploma/GED with 7+ years engineering experience
