GE Aerospace’s Military Materials Systems (MMS) organization is seeking a Lead Metallic Materials Application Engineer to define materials and processes (M&P), qualify hardware, and support lifecycle management for engine hardware. You will collaborate with design, quality, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to meet program requirements and ensure safe operations.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Materials, Materials Science, or Metallurgy (or equivalent with 7+ years engineering experience).
• Minimum 3 years engineering experience.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Aufgaben

• Interpret design requirements affecting materials and processes; provide M&P guidance to design/manufacturing teams.
• Define M&P for hardware; review and approve hardware drawings and design changes.
• Set qualification requirements and disposition initial part qualifications and subsequent process/source changes.
• Disposit ion manufacturing nonconformances and support supplier process reviews with quality and supply chain.
• Lead root cause investigations of M&P-related problems in manufacturing and field; drive corrective actions and read-across.
• Identify M&P technology gaps and update M&P technology strategies.
• Apply lessons learned from field experience, manufacturing changes, property evaluations, and development programs.
• Communicate hardware M&P status and results to team and leadership.
• Author technical reports documenting key M&P decisions.
