Job summary

Dandy in Indianapolis is building a Metal Additive Manufacturing Department and is seeking an experienced Sr. Additive Manufacturing Technician to operate metal laser powder bed fusion systems and related workflows.

You will calibrate and operate AM equipment, manage metal powders, perform post-processing, inspect parts, and contribute to process improvements while training junior technicians. This is a full-time, on-site role on first shift.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience in Metal Additive Manufacturing or CNC Machining.
• Ability to read and execute manufacturing work instructions and CAD files.

Responsibilities

• Machine operation, setup, and calibration of AM equipment and related tooling.
• Powder management: handling, sieving, mixing, and recycling metal powders per EHS protocols.
• Post-processing: depowdering, part removal from build substrate, support removal, and plate resurfacing.
• Quality assurance: inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy against CAD drawings and models.
• Maintenance & troubleshooting: preventive maintenance and diagnosing/m solving issues to minimize downtime.
• Process improvement & leadership: analyze failed builds, suggest adjustments, and mentor junior technicians on safety and best practices.
• Documentation: maintain build logs, material lots, maintenance records, and traceability.
