  • Program Summary: The Lead Mental Health Worker (LMHW) position is an integral part of a fast-paced treatment team of experienced clinical personnel. The LMHW is assigned a small caseload of children with severe, acute mental health needs, possibly involved with the juvenile justice system. You will facilitate therapeutic skills groups, assess and document consumer presentations, and provide guidance and encouragement to help consumers reach their wellness goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in psychology, counseling, sociology, social work, nursing, neuroscience, or other clinical fields AND at least 1 year of experience working with children and adolescents in a clinical mental health program. Knowledge of the Juvenile Justice system is preferred.
  • Must have audio/visual/verbal activity to supervise clients and perform essential job functions.
  • Must have physical dexterity for physical interventions as necessary.
  • Must complete and pass agency Crisis/Physical Intervention training.
  • Must have emotional stability to perform essential job functions.
  • Must possess verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.
  • Access to a telephone.
  • Must be eligible for PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse History clearance, and FBI clearance.
  • Ability to identify with the Agency's Mission Statement and support its Core Values.
Knowledge Areas
  • Group dynamics, child and adolescent development, evidenced-based treatments (CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing), behavior management, individual & group services, communication skills, problem solving, personnel practices/policies, Total Quality Management, positive behavioral support strategies, Juvenile Justice, 3800 Regulations for Day Treatment, 5210 Regulations for Partial Hospitalization.
