Job summary

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (preferable).
• Must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes.

Responsibilities

• Understands and implements athletic policies approved by the Rowan Salisbury Schools Board of Education.
• Supervises and coordinates staff of coaches in conjunction with athletic director/principal.
• Maintains discipline and morale; provides staff development and supervision.
• Trains staff, conducts conferences and staff meetings to ensure program awareness.
• Promotes the sport within the school and through media or community partners.
• Ensures safety, equipment maintenance, and proper facility use.
• Mentors student athletes and supports academics and character development.
