Job summary

HRL Laboratories, LLC seeks a seasoned MEMS fabrication leader to drive advanced device design, development, and scalable production in a top-tier R&D setting.

You will develop and optimize MEMS processes, lead experiments, and mentor junior staff while guiding funded programs and collaborating across laboratories. This role emphasizes tech leadership, originality, and program ownership in a security-cleared environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree with 5+ years of fabrication process experience in an R&D environment.
• Strong process development, DOE, statistical data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Ability to integrate diverse process recipes into scalable fabrication workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead MEMS device design, fabrication, and testing for scalable production.
• Design and execute experiments to validate MEMS technologies.
• Manage timelines, deliverables, and resources for research programs.
• Mentor junior staff and guide funded MEMS/NEMS initiatives.
• Oversee wafer inspections, metrology, and process quality improvements.
