Job summary

HRL Laboratories seeks a senior IMU/ sensor engineer to lead end-to-end evaluation, characterization, and firmware alignment for advanced MEMS IMUs. You will work across hardware and software, maturing prototypes through production handoff, with a focus on bias, noise, and stability in dynamic environments.

Candidates should have 7+ years in sensor development, strong embedded C/C++, MATLAB/Python skills, and experience with test automation and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
• 7+ years hands-on experience owning sensor development and DSP including prototype bring-up and hardware/firmware integration.
• 4+ years’ experience managing production/test documentation and artifact production.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end IMU evaluation and characterization for prototyping, product development, and sustainment.
• Define and execute characterization strategies across environmental and dynamic conditions; build automated test setups.
• Analyze performance data, identify drivers, validate models, and investigate anomalies.
