Job summary

Spring Oak at York in York, SC, seeks a Lead Medication Technician to support our Wellness team. This role combines direct resident care with leadership responsibilities to ensure safe medication administration, accurate documentation, and high-quality, person-centered care.

Responsibilities include leading Medication Technicians, coordinating shifts, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with policies and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Current medication administration certification required by South Carolina.
• Experience as Medication Technician, preferably in assisted living or senior living.
• Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely administer medications in accordance with physician orders, community policies, and state regulations.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to Medication Technicians and caregivers.
• Help coordinate shift assignments and promote clear communication among team members.
• Maintain accurate medication administration records and other required documentation.
• Monitor medication carts, medication supplies, and storage areas for organization and compliance.
• Assist with medication cart audits and promptly address documentation or medication-related concerns.
• Observe residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Provide personal care, assistance, and supervision to residents as needed.
• Follow individualized care plans and promote residents’ dignity, comfort, and independence.
• Work under the direction of the Director of Wellness, licensed nurse, or designated supervisor.
