Evening Shift

Job Summary:

Performs medical laboratory testing and supervisory duties as designated by the supervisor.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a related Biological/Chemical Science from an accredited college or university.

Licensure, Registration, and Certification:

Must have passed a national certification exam as a laboratory scientist accredited by an approved agency.

Work Experience:

At least 1 year of related experience with high complexity testing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Basic PC skills for data entry and computer use.
  • Interpersonal relations, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Receive and process specimens, components, and requisitions promptly, verifying specimen identification and acceptability.
  • Assist other department employees during high-volume periods.
  • Perform blood component transfusion processes, maintain inventory, and document activities accurately.
  • Conduct testing following established procedures, maintain a clean work environment, and ensure safety protocols.
  • Use laboratory information systems effectively for recording and reporting results.
  • Perform quality control, equipment maintenance, and calibration tasks.
  • Manage departmental operations in the supervisor’s absence, communicate effectively, and support staff development.
Decision Making:

Exercise independent judgment for planning and minor decisions within a complex technical environment.

Working Relationships:

Coordinate activities and communicate with internal and external healthcare professionals, patients, and staff, including leadership at the Director level or above.

Additional Information:

This role is designated as safety sensitive under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act (OMMA). Employment may be contingent upon compliance with related regulations.
