Job summary

The ideal candidate holds MT(ASCP) or MLS(ASCP) certification, meets CLIA high complexity requirements, and has about four years of clinical lab experience.

Qualifications

• Meets CLIA requirements for high complexity laboratory testing.
• Certification required: MT(ASCP), or MLS(ASCP). ASCP Specialty in area of expertise preferred.
• Four years of clinical laboratory experience in a computerized hospital setting in area of expertise preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets all the technical requirements of the duties of a Medical Technologist.
• Performs, interprets, documents, and reports clinical laboratory diagnostic assays.
• Participates in Quality Control & Quality Assurance Activities.
• Checks, calibrates and maintains equipment in working order, performing preventive maintenance at prescribed intervals.
• Ensures adequate reagent supplies according to Laboratory and Section policies.
• Demonstrates adaptability, flexibility and timeliness in managing workload and processes required to meet technical and administrative needs.
• Acts as department resource in absence of supervisor.
• Coordinates the research, development, and training of personnel and students in new procedures, techniques, and equipment in conjunction with regulatory requirements.
