Job description

Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the practice manager, coordinates all day-to-day front office operations that support the delivery of comprehensive healthcare services and exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinates all aspects of patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and front desk staff coverage.
  2. Promotes continuous quality improvement in patient services and practice workflow.
  3. Responsible for front desk work allocation, training, and problem resolution.
  4. Answers phones, schedules appointments, checks patients in and out, and coordinates specialist appointments.
  5. Collects patient balances, copays, and credit card payments at the time of service.
  6. Reviews lists of patients needing appointments and calls to schedule when due.
  7. Verifies demographics and insurance information for every patient.
  8. Schedules, coordinates, and tracks STAT patient referrals and pre-authorizations.
  9. Works to achieve NCQA ACO, Meaningful Use, and other clinical quality measures.
  10. Assists patients with Kiosk sign-in.
  11. Monitors and orders administrative supplies to ensure proper inventory.
  12. Complies with OSHA and DOH standards.
  13. Adheres to Brown Health Medical Group guidelines for protecting patient demographic, clinical, and financial information.
  14. Provides superior customer service and outstanding patient care.
  15. Attends meetings and workshops related to current position and office workflows.
  16. Performs other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
