MUSC Health is seeking a Lead Medical Office Assistant to oversee daily scheduling operations under the Office Manager. The role focuses on directing scheduling staff, maintaining efficient patient flow, and promoting teamwork and professional communication in a busy ambulatory clinic.
The position requires strong customer service skills, familiarity with Windows/Excel/Access, and the ability to train new staff while meeting performance standards. Weekend work may be required.
Under the direct supervision of the Office Manager the Lead MOA oversees daily administrative operations in assigned area. Responsible for providing scheduling staff with direction with regard to daily operations. Works closely with Office Manager to ensure areas are staffed as necessary. Ensures the day-to-day scheduling functions are carried out in an efficient manner to expedite patient flow. Promotes teamwork, professionalism, communication and staff development.

Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift and/or carry objects weighing 20 lbs (+/-) unassisted. Lift from 36” to overhead 15 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
