Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 2 years Medical Assistant experience.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Familiarity with medical office procedures.
• Customer interaction knowledge of and ability to utilize practices, tools, and techniques for communicating with a customer.
• Medical equipment knowledge of common equipment used in healthcare and ability to use them.
• HIPAA privacy and security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Serves as resource to other Medical Assistants by training, mentoring and assisting in daily operations.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification.
• Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information.
• Maintains knowledge of information technology systems within scope of practice.
• Assists physicians with examinations and various diagnostic procedures, may perform EKG and venipuncture/injections.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
• Orders clinical supplies to maintain inventory and smooth office operations.
