Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Medical Assistant III for the Medicine Multispecialty Center in Sunset Hills. The role involves direct patient care, room preparation, charting, vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and assisting with exams and labs.

The successful candidate will have a CMA/RMA/CCMA with 3+ years of experience, BLS certification, and the ability to supervise MA I/II when needed. Responsibilities include patient flow, documentation, and coordinating tests and procedures.

Qualifications

• Registered or Certified Medical Assistant with three years of related work experience.
• Credential must be obtained from in-person proctored exams (NHA, AAMA or AMT).
• Substitutions include RN/LPN or allied health training with at least one year of relevant experience.
• Ability to show proof of Medical Assistant certification/registration within six months of hire.
• Basic Life Support certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients in clinic, take vitals, perform EKGs, phlebotomy and verify medications.
• Prepare exam rooms and charts, schedule tests and assist with examinations and procedures.
• Assist with lab tests and vaccine administration under physician orders.
• Direct patient flow, train/ supervise other Medical Assistants as needed.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and timely documentation.
