Job Summary:

The Lead Medical Assistant is a healthcare professional who is an essential member of the patient-centered healthcare team. They assist with daily operations, staff assignments, and act as a resource for patients, providers, and support staff in the absence of the manager/supervisor. Responsibilities also include onboarding and training new employees and acting as a liaison to resolve issues. The Lead MA performs all tasks of a Medical Assistant and Senior Medical Assistant.

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a medical assistant or in the relevant credentialed field.
  • Preferred: 2 years in a designated specialty or ambulatory setting.
Educational Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Licensure and Certification:
  • Must have one of the following: Military Medic/Corpsman training (with certification within 6 months), Credentialed in ABR-OE, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NRCMA, CCMA, NPCE, Certified Paramedic, Advanced EMT, or LPN license.
  • If hired as a Lead before 3/1/25, must obtain certification/license within 6 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or equivalent within 90 days of hire.
