Job Summary:

The Lead Medical Assistant is a healthcare professional who is an essential member of the patient-centered health care team. This individual assists the manager/supervisor with daily operations, including staff assignments and acting as a resource for patients, providers, and support staff in the absence of the manager/supervisor. The Lead MA may also help with onboarding and ongoing training of medical assistants and acts as a liaison for issue resolution. The Lead MA performs all tasks of a Medical Assistant and Senior Medical Assistant.

Experience:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a medical assistant or in the relevant credentialed field.
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in a designated specialty or ambulatory setting.
Education:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Licensure:

Must possess one of the following: Military Medic/Corpsman training (with certification/license within 6 months), Credentialed in ABR-OE, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NRCMA, CCMA, NPCE certification, Certified Paramedic, Advanced EMT, or LPN license. If hired as a Lead before 3/1/25, must obtain certification/license within 6 months. AHA BLS or equivalent required within 90 days of hire.
