Job summary

Stony Brook Clinical Practice Management Plan is seeking a Lead Medical Assistant for the Stony Brook Emergency Physicians UFPC in Commack, NY. This full-time role supports physicians and clinical staff with routine clinical and clerical duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED completed.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 3 years of experience as Medical Assistant.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.
• Ability to maintain organized systems for patient flow.
• Computer and EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in examination rooms and document in EMR with vitals and visit reason.
• Perform screening and measuring procedures (height, weight, BP, pulse, temp).
• Prepare for exams and procedures; supervise equipment and staff.
• Manage inventory, ensure room cleanliness, and handle front desk duties when needed.
• Explain treatments and instructions to patients; ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
• Train new incoming MAs and LPNs; support daily opening/closing procedures.
