Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis seeks a Medical Assistant Lead to guide Medical Assistants I and II in a large multi-physician clinic. You will help ensure smooth patient flow, prepare rooms and charts, and coordinate care.

You will provide direct patient care including vitals, EKGs, phlebotomy, injections and assist with exams. Strong organization and HIPAA compliance are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of related work experience.
• Certification as Medical Assistant is preferred or required per department guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Interact directly with patients, obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and medication verification.
• Prepare for office hours by organizing charts, scheduling tests, and readying exam rooms.
• Assist with examinations, procedures, and lab tests.
• May assist with renewal/authorization of non-narcotic meds under standing orders.
• Administer medications under physician/nurse practitioner orders (vaccines, injections).
