Lead, Medical Assistant - Behavioral Medicine

Full Time, 36 hours a week, no nights or weekends

Duties:

  • Organizes job functions and work area to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frames.
  • Demonstrates ability to respond to changing situations flexibly to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.
  • Perform medication reconciliation with patients.
  • Advise and schedule appropriate follow-up appointments.
  • Carries out physician orders accurately, directly, and indirectly.
  • Maintain and coordinate communication among patient/significant other, staff, and physician as evidenced within medical record, client, and health care team feedback.
  • Effectively communicate patient’s changing needs and plans of care among staff members.
  • Report patient needs/programs and observations regarding patient’s condition to the physician.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team in coordination of the patient’s care as evidenced by other department feedback.
  • Participates in staff development programs.
  • Assists patients, family members, or other clients with concern and empathy; respects their confidentiality and privacy and communicates with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
  • Answers and refers telephone calls or other inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communications.
  • Assists in the orientation/training of new Team Members.
  • Demonstrates flexibility to perform duties wherever volume deems it necessary within the Clinic.
  • Consistently evaluates work and determines if further steps are needed to meet client expectations.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant program with a minimum of 1 year experience. Registered or certified medical assistant will be accepted in lieu of work experience. OR
  • Registered or Certified Medical Assistant with a minimum of 1 year experience. OR
  • Attended and graduated from a Medical Assisting program with at least 1 year experience, has not taken the certification/exam or is no longer current.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience.
