Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant 4 at our Ormond Beach, FL outpatient site.

This role is the first point of contact for patient care, combining administrative responsibilities with hands-on clinical duties, including vital signs, injections, specimen collection, and input into the electronic medical records system. Qualifications

• Certified/registered Medical Assistant required.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• Medication/vaccine administration experience required.
• 3+ years MA experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Discuss symptoms and input information into the EMR system.
• Take vital signs and administer injections.
• Perform diagnostic tests and collect specimens.
• Draw blood and prepare examination rooms.
• Sterilize and clean equipment and maintain clinical areas.
• Collaborate with Physicians and Nurses on patient care.

The Medical Assistant 4 is the first point of contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant 4 assumes ownership and leads advanced and highly specialized administrative/operational/customer support responsibilities that require independent initiative and judgment. The Medical Assistant 4 performs clinical duties such as discussing symptoms and gathering and inputting information into the electronic medical records system, taking vital signs, giving injections, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site. Collaborates closely with Physicians and Nurses. Delivers direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows. Decisions are regarding the daily priorities for an administrative work group and/or external vendors including coordinating work activities and monitoring progress towards schedules/goals and often oversees work of others and/or is the primary administrative owner of a main process, program, product or technology. Required

• Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
• Phlebotomy Experience
• Medication/vaccine administration experience
• 3+ years MA Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• CPR Certified

Preferred

• 1+ years MA experience in PCO center
• Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication
