Job summary

Conviva Senior Primary Care, a Humana company, in Ormond Beach, FL, seeks a Medical Assistant 4 to be the first contact for patient care within an outpatient setting.

The role performs clinical duties (vital signs, injections, specimen collection) and handles administrative tasks, coordinating with physicians and nurses to ensure smooth patient flow. Working hours are 40 per week, Monday–Friday, in-office.

Qualifications

• Certified/Registered Medical Assistant required.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Medication/vaccine administration experience required.
• 3+ years MA experience required.
• CPR certification required.
• Role includes TB screening commitments.

Responsibilities

• Discuss symptoms and input information into the EMR.
• Take vital signs and administer injections.
• Perform diagnostic tests and collect specimens.
• Draw blood and maintain exam rooms in outpatient care.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses; prioritize admin/clinical duties.
• Lead administrative workflow and coordinate with vendors as needed.

The Medical Assistant 4 is the first point of contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant 4 assumes ownership and leads advanced and highly specialized administrative/operational/customer support responsibilities that require independent initiative and judgment.

The Medical Assistant 4 performs clinical duties such as discussing symptoms and gathering and inputting information into the electronic medical records system, taking vital signs, giving injections, performing diagnostic tests, collecting specimens, drawing blood, sterilizing and cleaning equipment, and maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site. Collaborates closely with Physicians and Nurses. Delivers direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows. Decisions are regarding the daily priorities for an administrative work group and/or external vendors including coordinating work activities and monitoring progress towards schedules/goals and often oversees work of others and/or is the primary administrative owner of a main process, program, product or technology. Works within broad guidelines with little oversight.

• Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience


• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$48,300 - $65,900 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
