Job summary

Nordson Test & Inspection, a global leader in X‑Ray & Test Systems and Optical Sensors and Metrology, seeks a Principal Mechatronics Test & Development Engineer to establish verification, validation, and calibration strategy for an optical metrology product line, while contributing hands-on to prototype builds, integration, and design maturation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Optical Eng.
• 7+ years in mechatronic systems with optical metrology preferred.
• Proficient in Python/Matlab and LabVIEW; C# familiarity a plus.
• CAD experience with GD&T and tolerance stacks.
• Experience with motion stages, sensors, DAQ and lab instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Define the verification plan and acceptance criteria for builds and pilot runs; ensure traceability.
• Design and implement calibration methods for optical and electro‑mechanical subsystems.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts and data pipelines with version control.
• Plan environmental, stability, and reliability evaluations and translate findings into design recommendations.
• Create procedures, work instructions, and training for test and calibration activities.
