Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager in New Orleans to lead commercial mechanical projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safety, on schedule, and within budget. You will manage HVAC, piping, and plumbing scopes, coordinating with engineers, field teams, subcontractors, and owners’ representatives.

The role emphasizes design–build capabilities, cost‑effective systems, and proactive risk management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience managing commercial mechanical projects (HVAC, piping, and/or plumbing).
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, drawings, and specifications, including coordination with electrical and plumbing scopes.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial mechanical projects (HVAC, piping, and plumbing) from planning through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget targets are met.
• Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications; coordinate with in‑house engineers and design partners to validate scope and constructability.
• Develop and maintain project budgets, cost forecasts, and change orders; monitor financial performance and address variances.
• Create and manage project schedules, coordinating with field supervision, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades to optimize sequencing and manpower.
• Lead regular project meetings with owners, design teams, and internal stakeholders; provide reporting on progress, risks, and issue resolution.
• Oversee procurement of mechanical equipment and materials, working with purchasing teams and vendors to meet project requirements and lead times.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies, industry codes, and company standards across all project activities.
• Support start‑up, commissioning, and turnover of mechanical systems, ensuring documentation, training, and punch list items are completed to client satisfaction.
