Job summary

CAMS is seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Mechanical (Owner’s Rep) to serve as the site’s mechanical technical authority for high-risk, brownfield capital projects at Merom Generating Station. You will lead engineering through construction, commissioning, and turnover, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.

The role requires 10+ years in mechanical engineering and a proven ability to coordinate with EPCs, field teams, and operations to deliver complex

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering and project execution for industrial, utility, or power generation capital projects.
• Proven ability to lead mechanical scope with EPC/contractors and vendors, including submittal/RFI management and change control.
• Strong understanding of mechanical system design, equipment, materials, and construction interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Act as mechanical discipline lead for assigned capital projects, prioritizing work and coordinating across disciplines.
• Review EPC mechanical deliverables for compliance with scope, specs, drawings, and codes/standards.
• Oversee field changes, nonconformances, and deviations with proper approvals and as-built documentation.
• Support tie-ins/outages, scheduling, and commissioning readiness from a mechanical perspective.
• Verify test records, alignment reports, QC docs, punch lists, and turnover packages for commissioning and closeout.
• Respond to RFIs and clarify technical details to maintain project momentum.
