Job summary

Venture Global LNG seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer – Rotating for the CP2 LNG facility in Cameron, Louisiana. The role reports to the Director of Engineering and focuses on rotating equipment, motors, turbines, and reliability improvements across plants.

Responsibilities include MOC/HAZOP signoffs, serving as the site technical authority for rotating equipment, and contributing to weekly engineering briefs. LNG industry experience is highly valued and a PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in engineering with rotating and mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.
  • Oil and Gas experience required, LNG preferred; petrochemical or cryogenic processing acceptable.
  • Extensive knowledge of gas turbines (Frames & Aero-derivatives) and compressors (performance) required.

Responsibilities

  • Rotating equipment MOC/HAZOP signoff.
  • Site rotating equipment technical authority.
  • VG engineering sign-off on rotating equipment inspection/readiness.
  • Provide input to weekly site engineering report.

Lead Mechanical Engineer - Rotating

Summary

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will report to the Director of Engineering. We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer, Rotating Equipment to join our site engineering team at our Calcasieu Pass 2 LNG (CP2) facility located in Cameron, Louisiana. The successful candidate shall possess understanding of drivers such as motors and gas turbines and driven equipment such as compressors, pumps and generators. The incumbent shall have a solid understanding of associated supporting components/systems such as, couplings, bearings, lubrication and sealing systems (dry gas seals and mechanical seals). Working knowledge in machinery installation, compressor performance, and vibration analysis is key in successful performance of this job. Additionally, This Individual Shall Provide, As a Minimum, Intermediate Level Reliability Engineering Support To The Operations Team With Focus In The Following Areas

  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA): With expertise in relevant techniques to adequately lead RCFA exercises for failures relating to plant equipment and/or processes.
  • Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM): With adequate knowledge in relevant techniques to drive fine-tuning & improvements in existing Maintenance practices to achieve a cost-effective, yet safe robust Maintenance strategy.

Qualifications
Required experience
  • A minimum of Five (5) years’ experience working in an engineering capacity, with Rotating and Mechanical equipment in an industrial setting in engineering or operations
  • Oil and Gas experience is required, with preference in LNG applications, however, petrochemical, NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing, or other hydrocarbon processing experience may be acceptable.
  • Extensive knowledge of gas turbines (Frames & Aero-derivatives) and compressors (including compressor performance) is required
  • Additional Skills:
    • Knowledge of CMMS Systems
    • RCFA tools for conducting failure analysis
Preferred Experience
  • Mechanical Engineering focus
  • A Professional Engineering License
Required Education
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical discipline
