Job summary

Enhance Recruiting in San Antonio, TX seeks a Lead Engineer to lead design and execution of industrial control panel enclosures and engineered mechanical systems. This hands‑on role ensures UL standards, customer specs and internal quality while guiding cross‑functional teams.

You will own the design of custom, high‑voltage systems for power distribution modules and generator enclosures, mentoring engineers, reviewing designs, and ensuring manufacturability and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• 8+ years in mechanical engineering with 5+ years in mission critical enclosures.
• PE license highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Revit and 3D AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of industrial control panel enclosures, skids, cabinets, and integrated mechanical assemblies.
• Maintain and improve internal engineering standards and best practices.
• Partner with Project Managers, Electrical Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing to deliver projects on schedule and within scope.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers through technical guidance and design reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, standardization, and manufacturability.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and production.
• Lead and oversee the design of custom generator enclosures and integrated power distribution systems.
• Structural & HVAC Integration: Collaborate across disciplines to ensure structural and cooling systems are optimized for durability, safety, and efficiency.
• Material & Component Strategy: Specify materials and components to align geographic and environmental considerations.
• Documentation & Compliance: Produce detailed design packages including drawings, bill of materials, and technical documentation; ensure adherence to regulatory and quality standards.
• Client Collaboration: Serve as a primary technical interface with clients throughout the lifecycle of each project.
• Project Management: Drive engineering schedules and coordinate cross‑functional teams to meet milestones.
• Mentorship: Lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and uphold rigorous quality assurance standards.
