Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• 8+ years of mechanical design experience in scientific instrumentation or related systems.
• Experience designing products for challenging environments (temperature, vibration, etc.) preferred.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and PLM systems.
• Hands-on prototyping and familiarity with manufacturing processes.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to conduct design reviews and collaborate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead electro‑mechanical design of components and assemblies.
• Serve as technical owner for mechanical design decisions with performance goals.
• Provide mentorship through design reviews and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Translate requirements into engineering solutions with cross‑functional teams.
• Drive project execution, task estimation, and schedule development.
• Deliver production‑ready designs through validation and release.
• Apply structural, thermal, and flow analysis to support data‑driven design.
• Lead verification and validation including functional and environmental testing.
• Coordinate prototype builds and rapid iteration with internal/external resources.
• Drive DFx, DFA, and transition to manufacturing with supply chain input.
