Job summary

Herc Rentals Inc. in Greer, SC is seeking a Mechanic A to lead fleet maintenance and mentor newer technicians. You will apply your master technician skills to keep equipment on the rental ready line, following Herc's SOPs and safety standards.

You will diagnose engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, perform preventive maintenance, and generate detailed service logs. Strong diagnostic ability and experience with fleet management and computerized tools are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to drive and operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment.
• Proficiency with computerized diagnostic tools and fleet management systems.
• Demonstrated mastery of all Mechanic B and C-level tasks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, propane, and fuel systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance on all Herc-owned fleet at the branch.
• Operate and test equipment to ensure it passes Herc Rentals quality and efficiency standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all Herc fleet equipment and trucks independently.
• Diagnose and repair internal combustion engines, DC electrical systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
• Use diagnostic tools and computerized systems to troubleshoot and calibrate mechanical, electronic problems, and power loss issues.
• Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs.
