Dresel Contracting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanic in Chisago City, MN to oversee repairs for a fleet of heavy equipment, trucks, and pickups. You will lead a small team, create work orders, and ensure timely maintenance while maintaining a safe, efficient shop environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, coordination with project managers, and the ability to mentor peers. Trade credentials and a valid CDL are valued as part of your qualifications.

Qualifications

3-5 Years of Automotive / Diesel Mechanic experience.
Ability to multitask and continually prioritize a changing workload.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Superior communication skills – including listening speaking/writing.
Possess or have the ability to get a commercial driver’s license.
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to problem solve independently.
Ability to build or acquire knowledge to improve or develop skills.
Work well under pressure to meet deadlines and effectively deal with difficult situations and or people.
Negotiate and prioritize tasks daily from a variety of individuals.
Basic Computer Skills
Ability to Lift 75+ lbs.
Own mechanics tool set

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Project Managers to create repair schedules and manage flow of repairs.
Create work orders and perform repair services.
Coordinate and perform routine maintenance and monitor schedule.
Lead a small team to keep equipment running and ready for work.
Mentor, coach and motivate teammates to develop their technical skills.
Ensure the team maintains a safe and clean work environment.
Help develop supplier relationships and negotiate pricing and support.
