Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on commercial trucks and fleet vehicles
• Lead and mentor junior mechanics, delegating tasks and ensuring quality workmanship
• Conduct inspections to ensure all vehicles meet DOT compliance and safety standards
• Troubleshoot diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and parts inventory
• Coordinate with dispatch and operations to minimize vehicle downtime
• Order parts and manage shop supplies to support efficient workflow

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in diesel or heavy-duty truck mechanics
• Prior leadership or lead mechanic experience preferred
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing Class 6-8 commercial trucks
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle safety compliance
• ASE certification or equivalent trade credentials a plus
• Ability to use diagnostic software and tools (e.g., Cummins Insite, Detroit Diesel)
• Valid driver's license required; CDL a plus
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
