Job summary

Hanley Energy Group seeks a Lead Field Technician to head a critical team ensuring key mechanical equipment in hyperscale data centers operates reliably. You will install, design, and test critical cooling equipment while coordinating a 4-5 person crew.

As on-site representative, you will lead customer meetings, allocate resources, assist with hiring and development, and serve as the subject matter expert on the product. Travel up to 25% is required to support diverse projects.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience with mechanical systems including heat exchangers, air handlers, pumps, fans, valves and controls instrumentation.
• 1-2 years as a team lead managing and educating small teams of 4-5 people.
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Technical degrees/certifications in STEM/MEP/SCADA.
• Experience commissioning HVAC, cooling, or critical infrastructure systems.
• Experience with chilled water, condenser water, and refrigerant-based cooling systems.
• Experience with PLCs, controls, and automation systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Understanding of data center cooling infrastructure preferred.

This team will install, design and test critical cooling equipment. They will direct and support their team to ensure that high company standards are upheld, and work is completed safely and efficiently. They will be the key on-site representative of the company and will work with outside stakeholders to ensure project success.
