Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Specialist, Measurement to provide data analysis support for psychometricians within the US School Assessment group. You will troubleshoot, develop, and monitor quality control over large datasets, and coordinate across projects using tools like WINSTEPS and MULTILOG.

The role emphasizes collaboration, mentoring, and conveying complex results to diverse audiences. Experience in educational assessment and advanced programming is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with experience as a lead data analysis consultant, or a master’s or doctoral degree with data processing experience.
• Experience in statistical analysis, programming, and large-scale data processing.
• Experience working with large datasets and developing or maintaining analytical code.
• Experience in project coordination, resource management, budgeting, and team training or mentoring.
• Experience in educational assessment or testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain psychometric programs and statistical analysis processes.
• Develop and monitor quality control processes to ensure accurate and reliable data.
• Work with diverse data structures, databases, and large datasets containing one million or more records.
• Develop and maintain code, templates, and configurations for psychometric software, such as WINSTEPS and MULTILOG.
• Coordinate data analysis and data transfers across multiple projects and teams.
• Improve data processing workflows, resolve issues, and streamline processes.
• Lead or support data analysis for standard-setting and data review meetings.
• Train and mentor colleagues on programming, data processing troubleshooting, and quality control.
• Communicate technical information and analysis results to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support project planning, resource coordination, and process documentation.
• Travel of approximately 5-10%
