Job summary

Pearce Services is seeking an Advanced MCE Wind Technician to lead field work on-site, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency. You will perform up-tower repairs and diagnostics on wind turbine components, including generators, bearings, rings, and drives.

This role requires at least 4 years of turbine experience, ability to read schematics, and willingness to climb towers above 300 feet. The job is 100% travel across North America, with a company vehicle and full benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of direct experience on any Platforms.
• Direct turbine specific experience is required.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics by various Wind Turbine manufacturers.
• Main Component Exchange (MCE) experience required with additional knowledge in lifting operations.
• Detailed knowledge and skill in generators, converters, controllers, and electrical equipment.
• Ability to recognize potential issues and major faults.
• Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English to safely perform job duties, interpret technical instructions, and communicate effectively with team members and customers.
• Ability and willingness to climb a wind turbine vertically at least 300 feet.
• Maintain a weight between 120 and 280 pounds, including clothing and boots, for OSHA safety compliance.
• Lift and move equipment as needed (>50 pounds).
• Work in an indoor or outdoor environment with adverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead team and support lifting ops for equipment at heights over 250 ft.
• Oversee lifting ops after validating skills for large components and lifting plans.
• Repair wind turbine electrical systems safely and efficiently.
• Perform LOTO as authorized person.
• Do pre-task planning, JHAs, RAs, and daily safety talks.
• Interface with vendors and customers professionally.
• Document work electronically and give feedback to Safety/Quality for improvements.
