Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to lead MBSE implementation on the SSNX program. You will guide requirements management, system architecture, and verification across the lifecycle of a future fast-attack submarine.

You will collaborate with discipline engineers, program management, and external stakeholders to advance MBSE practices, mentor junior engineers, and ensure alignment with cost, schedule, and performance goals for a complex naval

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's Degree in engineering.
• 9+ years relevant exempt experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• Master’s degree requires 7 years of relevant professional experience.
• Ph.D. requires 4 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of systems engineering on SSNX future class fast-attack nuclear powered submarine across the systems lifecycle including requirements development and management, verification and validation, and systems architecting.
• Lead the development and refinement of MBSE processes, frameworks, and best practices to be applied on the SSNX program.
• Collaborate with discipline engineering teams, program management, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with customer needs.
• Drive the adoption and execution of MBSE methodologies across programs to enhance efficiency and decision making.
• Collaborate and perform within a cross-functional team with other Engineers/Designers across Departments.
• Mentor early career systems engineers.
• Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
