Job summary

Mathnasium in Laguna Niguel is seeking a Lea Instructor to positively impact the community by creating a welcoming learning environment for K-12 students. You will be trained to provide effective math instruction and inspire students to engage with the Mathnasium method.

Schedule: 4 shifts per week with after-school hours; weekdays 1:00 PM–7:30 PM, Sundays 11:00 AM–5:00 PM. In-person role with growth opportunities and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Passion for math and working with students
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Eagerness to learn and be trained
• Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I
• Ability to balance leadership and instructional responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Teach/tutor in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method and practices
• Work collaboratively with team to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
• Assess students’ learning progress and engagement throughout sessions
• Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes
• Support the maintenance of a safe and professional learning environment
• Assist with administrative tasks as needed

What You Will Do...

As a Lea Instructor, you will be a passionate and outgoing individual who will positively impact the community by creating a welcoming environment for our students and families. Candidates will be trained to provide effective and concise math instruction. You will motivate and inspire students to learn by creating an engaging, positive and productive learning environment while establishing a high level of confidence and program value. Instructors will assist in evaluating and tracking the progress of each student through effective communication with the Center Manager and staff, as well as perform operational unctions as required.

All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.

Schedule

• 4 shifts a week
• Weekdays: Monday-Thursday, 1:00 PM - 7:30 PM
• Weekends: Sunday, 11:00 AM - 5:0 PM

• In-person
• Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work

Compensation

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour based on education and experience
