Job summary

RTX's Failure Analysis Lab in McKinney, Texas seeks a Principal Materials Engineer to lead failure analysis of Raytheon products, including components and materials, and to oversee SEM/EDS/WDS and other analytics. You will author technical reports, mentor junior engineers, and work in a multidisciplinary team with Sr.

engineers, maintaining tools and supporting programs. Requires an advanced degree in Materials Science or related field and extensive relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in STEM and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SEM/EDS/WDS, metallurgical evaluations, and failure analysis.
• Ability to author technical reports and present to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead root-cause failure analysis of RTX products and materials.
• Operate SEM/EDS/WDS and related analytical tools.
• Prepare formal analysis reports and recommend solutions to programs.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain and audit lab equipment and support tooling.
