Job summary

Flightstar in Jacksonville seeks a Lead Materials to manage stockroom operations, train staff, and ensure compliance with SOPs and FAA guidelines. You will coordinate parts, oversee inventory, and maintain safety and documentation standards on the 2nd shift.

Candidate should have 3+ years in aircraft-related stockroom/shipping, strong Excel/ERP skills, and fluency in English to communicate with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead stockroom personnel in day-to-day materials functions.

Position Summary

This position leads the stockroom operations in the performance of day to day functions. Ensures team members are applying Flightstar’s standard operating procedures and system processes. Plans and schedules the materials workload to maximize the effective utilization of employees. Performs routine training, reporting, and communication as directed by the Material Supervisor. Helps ensure all stockroom operations are performed in accordance with the customer’s program requirements as well as Federal and State regulations.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• 1 Under the direction of the Material Supervisor, lead and instruct stockroom personnel in the performance of day to day materials department functions.
• 2 Perform as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide on the job instruction and training to lower level materials personnel regarding materials department work activities, standard operating procedures, operating system, and safety.
• 3 Issues hardware and consumables using correct procedures and policies.
• 4 Communicates regularly with the Distribution Center, DC Material Supervisors, Materials Manager, Production Coordinators, and Project Managers on part locations and statuses. Monitors the shelf life of dated material to ensure serviceability and compliance with FAA guidelines.
• 5 Ensures the stockroom is maintained in a clean, neat, and organized manner.
• 6 Ensures the security of the stockroom and the inventory therein is maintained in accordance with company policy and procedures.
• 7 Follows up on all inbound/outbound tooling and parts requirements.
• 8 Ensures all stockroom personnel are executing excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
• 9 Completes required documentation on a timely, thorough, and legible basis as required.
• 10 Files documents properly according to company policies and procedures.
• 11 Lifts and carries tools and work materials, and frequently works in a variety of positions such as stooping or reaching overhead.
• 12 Follows safety procedures and ensures use of appropriate safety equipment for the work being performed.
• 13 Monitors work order lockers and shelves inventory to ensure proper disposition of left over materials.
• 14 Monitors transit bin flow between hangars including transactions with allocated stock and AOG part requests.
• 15 Accomplishes special projects and assignments per the instruction of the Material Supervisor.
• 16 Performs other duties as assigned.

Academic Qualifications

Previous Experience

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a related aircraft industry position. Prior stockroom, shipping, and/or receiving experience required.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required including: advanced level Excel, Word and Outlook. Subject Matter Expert in Flightstar’s ERP system.
