Job summary

Arrow Tool Group is seeking a material handler in Saddle Brook, NJ to maintain safe, clean operations and pick Kanban materials for production lines. You will safely operate a tugger, load materials, and deliver to lines with accuracy, while training new teammates and maintaining inventory controls.

The role emphasizes safety, punctuality, and ability to work overtime as needed, with benefits and competitive starting wages. Experience with inventory management is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Certification to operate Tugger/Forklift required (Arrow Certification provided as needed).
  • Strong inventory management and accuracy in data handling.

  • Maintain Kanban areas and ensure inventory is in the correct place.

Job description

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment and ensure compliance with all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Pick production materials identified on Kanban cards from designated Markets in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Safely operate an electric tugger to deliver production material to assigned production lines in a timely and efficient way.
  • Load required materials, including Purchased Goods, Work in Process Containers, Finished Goods Pallets, and Scrap Bins onto the Tugger and transport to the indicated areas and unload the materials in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide work direction and training to new team members while remaining patient and respectful.
  • Maintain KANBAN areas; straightening up component inventory and ensuring everything is in the correct place.
  • Ensure finished good skids are properly stacked, production form is filled out and delivered to a designated department.
  • Review inventory daily, maintain minimum stock levels and document items requiring reorder on tracking sheets.
  • Maintain all Kanban cards and notify leadership when an issue is identified.
  • Document all requests for components to be delivered to lines.
  • Advise Supervisor of any situation that interrupts or prevents production from achieving maximum efficiency.
  • Assist Senior Supervisor – Material Control in inventory audit counts and inputting production as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement projects and communicate improvement opportunities to leadership.
  • Meet daily performance standard rates, reviewed monthly with HR and the department Supervisor.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by the Senior Supervisor – Material Control.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
  • A High school diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish); verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 40 lbs.
  • Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and pushing repetitively.
  • Ability to operate a Tugger/Forklift. Powered Industrial Equipment certification is required (Arrow Certification provided as needed).
  • Ability to compute basic math problems including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory management.
  • Effective communication skills with team members and all levels of supervision.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Previous experience with inventory management is a plus.
  • Must have reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed.
