Job summary

Benco Dental, a family-owned leader in dental distribution, seeks a Lead Material Handler for De-Containerization. You will oversee daily warehouse tasks, mentor staff, and maintain inventory accuracy while supporting timely shipments. Strong reading, math, and basic computer skills are essential to succeed in a fast-paced environment.

The role operates Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM in our climate-controlled facility with comprehensive benefits and a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years shipping/traffic and material handling experience preferred.
• Able to move/lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Able to work in a climate-controlled warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Warehouse Supervisor with daily scheduling, task coordination and workflow management.
• Mentor new associates and maintain training documentation.
• Maintain inventory records and logs; prepare and ship materials and finished goods.
• Expedite high-priority orders and ensure accuracy in shipments.
• Receive, process and stock inbound products; support safety and housekeeping.

Position Summary:

Assists the Warehouse Supervisor with daily scheduling, task coordination, and workflow management for De-Containerization operations. Supports the direction and performance of material handlers, including task assignments, safety and security compliance, and escalation of performance concerns to management. Monitors daily operations while working alongside team members, prepares and reviews operational reports, and supports the training and onboarding of new associates by providing instruction and maintaining training documentation.

Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM

• Assists supervisors with daily warehouse functions

• Works closely with leadership to expedite high priority orders and ensure accuracy
• Receives, processes, and stocks inbound products in their appropriate location
• Actively participates in quality improvement processes
• Follows all safety regulations and procedures
• Contributes to material handling and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results
• Utilizes a computer to facilitate job duties and communications
• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet
• Provides input to the manager regarding associate performance and safety concerns for corrective action
• Participate in periodic housekeeping activities and actively contribute to improving operations, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring safety
• Complies with all policies and standards to support the efficient operations of the department and company
• Performs other duties as assigned

Do YOU Meet These Requirements?

• Ability to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
• 1-3 years previous shipping/traffic and material handling experience is required
• Education:
  • HS Diploma/GED is required
• Physical:
  • Able to move/lift 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment and varying temperatures within shipping containers
  • Position spends 100% amount of time standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing
  • Position may require climbing of ladders for top-level selection
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
