Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the receiving, unloading, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of medical products.
  • Ensure accurate inventory control through proper scanning, documentation, and cycle-counting procedures.
  • Operate various material-handling equipment safely and efficiently, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to material flow, inventory discrepancies, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Communicate effectively with management, team members, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with performance reviews and disciplinary actions for team members as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize warehouse processes.

Job description

Lead Material Handler, Nights

Location: Ruther Glen, VA, USA – 10504 McKesson Drive

Shift: Sunday – 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM; Monday – Thursday – 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM (Subject to change based on business needs. Overtime may be required and is mandatory if needed. Start times may fluctuate; flexibility is required.)

Compensation: Compensation will depend on the internal selection. A $1/hr shift differential will also apply.

Minimum Qualifications

Additional Skills and Qualifications
  • 5 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred; internal employees must have a minimum of 6 months of service to qualify to apply.

  • Proficiency in operating material‑handling equipment (e.g., reach truck, tugger, pallet jack) with current certification preferred; the location is willing to train those with no experience but must maintain certifications.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and safety procedures.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with warehouse management systems such as Acumax (preferred).

Physical Demands
  • General office demands.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated areas when required.
  • Walk up to 10 miles throughout the course of a shift (steps vary per shift).
  • Lifting 20‑50 pounds repetitively throughout the shift without assistance; greater weights in a team lift as needed.
  • May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day.
  • May sit or stand 7 to 10 hours per day.
  • May work extended hours as needed.
  • Finger dexterity to operate office equipment.
  • Visual acuity required to see and read fine prints; close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment needed.
  • Normal hearing required.

Base Pay Range: $18.56 – $30.94
