Qualifications

Responsibilities

Description

The Lead Massage Therapist/ DEM (Designated Establishment Manager) is responsible for ensuring operational compliance of the spa facility following the Florida Board of Massage Therapy regulations, in collaboration with the Community or Lifestyle Manager. The Lead Massage Therapist must possess industry knowledge and a fundamental understanding of each treatment protocol, updating them as necessary to maintain community standards. They will perform various modalities, including Swedish, deep-tissue massage, hot stone therapy, cranial massage, and sports massage, using hands, fingers, elbows, knees, and forearms.

Compensation:

  • Full-time position (Weekend availability required)
  • $35,000 annual salary

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Other Massage Therapists

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all required signage (e.g., Human Trafficking) is posted according to law.
  • Maintain a clean and organized facility.
  • Consult with clients to assess expectations, inquire about pain or discomfort, and update medical histories as needed.
  • Perform requested massage techniques, including Swedish, hot stone, cranial, deep-tissue, and sports massage.
  • Communicate with clients during sessions to ensure comfort.
  • Create a relaxing environment and educate clients on self-care techniques.
  • Keep detailed treatment records.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

Indoor work environment with potential exposure to equipment, chemicals, and solvents if safety procedures are not followed.
