Description

The Lead Massage Therapist/ DEM (Designated Establishment Manager) is responsible for ensuring operational compliance of the spa facility in collaboration with the Community or Lifestyle Manager, following Florida Board of Massage Therapy standards. The Lead Massage Therapist must have industry knowledge and a fundamental understanding of treatment protocols, updating them as needed to meet community standards. They will perform various modalities, including Swedish, deep-tissue massage, hot stone therapy, and other techniques, working comfortably with hands, fingers, elbows, knees, and forearms.

Compensation:

  • Full-time schedule (Weekend availability required)
  • $35,000 annual salary
  • Commission on services performed

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Other Massage Therapists

Responsibilities:

  • Post required signage according to law (e.g., Human Trafficking signs)
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility
  • Assess client expectations, inquire about pain or discomfort, and review medical histories
  • Perform massage techniques such as Swedish, hot stone, cranial, deep-tissue, or sports massage
  • Communicate with clients during sessions to ensure comfort
  • Create a relaxing environment
  • Educate clients on muscle soothing and strengthening methods; provide reference materials
  • Maintain detailed client treatment records
  • Attend meetings and training sessions
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
