Job summary

Fox Point Recruitment LLC seeks a Principal Applications Scientist - Mass Spectrometry in Milpitas, CA. You will lead development efforts for MS-based solutions around the Aston flagship product, engaging with customers, and shaping product roadmaps.

You will manage technical engagements, deliver presentations, and collaborate with business development, marketing, sales, and engineering to drive successful evaluations and new product introductions, with up to 30% travel.

Qualifications

• MSc degree with 6+ years’ experience or PhD with 2+ years in a related field.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with MS-based solutions for new applications.
• Experience with analytical instruments such as mass spectrometers, gas analyzers, or plasma diagnostics.
• Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes (etch, CVD, ALD).
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop intricate operational knowledge of MS products under development.
• Provide hands-on experience with instrument configuration, calibration, validation, and performance testing.
• Develop new market-driven applications with potential customers.
• Support Aston evaluations at semiconductor OEMs and fabs.
• Provide on-site setup, debug, and performance analysis of Aston systems.
• Identify key application-specific requirements early in customer engagements.
• Identify new application opportunities and prepare internal or customer-facing proposals.
• Deliver customer-facing presentations and conduct pre-sale demonstrations.
• Develop and deliver HW/SW-related training sessions to customers.
• Acquire and analyze samples from prospective customers and generate data reports to close sales.
• Contribute to next generation product roadmaps and system-level performance requirements.
