Job summary

Ocean Atomics LLC is seeking a Principal Marine Engineer to serve as the technical authority for marine engineering across our standardized nuclear electric plant and vessels. You will own propulsion, electrical, auxiliary, and control systems, ensuring seamless integration of a compact water-cooled reactor onto a maritime platform after delivery.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Marine Engineering or related heavy power discipline.
  • Track record leading complex marine machinery and power systems through regulatory approval and deployment.
  • Direct experience leading multidisciplinary teams through classification society and flag-state reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Lead propulsion, electrical generation, auxiliary, and controls domain leads across the program lifecycle.
  • Define interfaces between hull and reactor compartment and ensure shipyard-ready packages for regulatory approval.
  • Develop and validate P&ID diagrams for high-capacity cooling loops and containment networks.
  • Establish electrical load profiles and HV distribution topologies for grid synchronization.
  • Steer submittal strategy through classification society and flag-state reviews to secure hull classification and US flag registration.
  • Assess fabrication tolerances and lifting capability at integration yards against design specs.
