Job Overview
The Lead Manufacturing Technician Pre-Assembly serves as a technical and manufacturing expert, guiding employees engaged in mechanical assembly, disassembly, and installation tasks related to power transformers. Responsibilities include training employees on work instructions, skills, procedures, and safety, as well as performing various operational tasks within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform duties of a Senior Manufacturing Technician as needed.
- Maintain workflow, materials, and tools, adjusting schedules to meet production targets.
- Coordinate and communicate with work teams.
- Guide and support co-workers, especially in new or complex situations.
- Determine operation sequences when specifications are unclear.
- Assist in analyzing and resolving work problems, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct on-the-job training and coordinate cross-training and job rotations.
- Ensure quality standards are met through proper inspection and documentation.
- Interpret complex prints, specifications, and work instructions.
- Handle materials safely and follow standard work procedures.
- Perform preventative maintenance and TPM tasks on equipment.
- Practice 6S and adhere to safety protocols.
- Operate material handling equipment safely.
- Follow company policies and promote a positive professional image.
- Understand and discuss Hyosung HICO’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies.
Additional Duties
Assist in developing training materials, support quality and 6S initiatives, participate in continuous improvement activities, and support other manufacturing areas as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate degree in a technical field or vocational certification, with five years of manufacturing experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing policies, procedures, and power transformer operations.
- Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and reading skills for manufacturing drawings.
- Proficiency in math, geometry, safety procedures, and use of industrial measuring tools.
- Computer skills, especially MS Office and business systems.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Physical and Mental Characteristics
- Ability to safely operate tools, work at heights, and inspect work.
- Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and judge work quality.
- Operate powered equipment and work in various environments.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, lift, and perform repetitive movements.
- Use of PPE required.
